Bulgari

Italian style meets Hollywood glamour.

Sotirios Boulgaris, a Greek silversmith, moved to Italy and opened the first Bulgari shop in 1884. The house’s designs evolved with current fashions through the decades, and in the ’40s, Bulgari introduced Serpenti, the snake shaped bracelet watch that is still one of the company’s most celebrated icons. In the ’50s and ’60s, Bulgari established its glamorous Italian style, including its renowned Monete ancient coin designs and cabochon cut gemstones in bold, sumptuous pieces. During the filming of Cleopatra in Rome in 1960, Elizabeth Taylor would discover her two greatest loves: Richard Burton and Bulgari.
